Despite the fact that it's less than two weeks since the Winter Solstice, there's a distinct whiff of Spring in the air. |
From this windy hilltop we have a clear view over farmland to the Firth of Forth and Fife hills. |
The mounds on the horizon (left) conceal the remains of a Roman encampment, dating from the time of the Roman occupation of Britain. |
Maddy - merging with the wind! |
Crocuses in the Botanic Gardens,Edinburgh - late February. Spring is hopefully only a short time away! |
On the way home I collected some shells, with the intention of making an artwork. |
The artwork "Mermaid Lights" is now completed and I've shown it ,along with the construction process on my other blog Starry Universe ......HERE. Thankyou for visiting. |

Hi Ruby - these are all breathtaking pics. You live in a lovely countryside where everything is spectacular. Loved the colorful crocuses. Warm Regards Ram
Beautiful pictures. I wanted to spring immediately. Maddy as a spring breeze.
Such beautiful pictures, Ruby.
I love your mermaid lights. Makes me wish I lived near the sea.
Hi, Ruby. Mermaid light is fantastic! Looks like your place is warmer than I have thought. Temperature hasn’t become over 10 degrees this week in my part of the world. The bare trees are so beautiful reaching out to the blue sky. We can see more clearly and farther in winter. How lovely Maddy, becoming one with light and wind!

Such nice photos of your walk Ruby. My best wishes for you too. Like your candles.
Your photos always give such panoramic views! It is unusually warm for January isn't it? Such luck we have - though I believe it's supposed to get colder soon.

OMGosh! I can almost feel the spring in the air from here! We'll have another 3 full months before even having a hint of that. Gorgeous shots. And the Firth of Forth has always been one of my favourite place names.
I do love beautiful clear blue, cold & crisp days like the one on your walk. It feels like I have been for a walk after looking at these and feel all refreshed!

How absolutely beautiful, dear Ruby...
oh, those crocuses!
Living where you do is food for the soul indeed...spectacular.
I thank you so very much for your visit! I am still trying to shake the remnants of this cold...slowly but surely...seeing your message certainly lifted my spirits!
Hopping over to see your new work now...
Blessings,
