Spring Ritual

"Spring Ritual"  -   painting by Meg Watson

The dancing daffodils are leaving us again for another year.

Yellow trumpet heralds have already gone and the others are fast fading.

Wild Things

Flight of pigeons  .......  and a winged cloud!

Wild primroses

Beautiful glowing Dandelion.

Every year I keep a few plants in our garden for culinary purposes.
The young chicory flavoured leaves, which are rich in vitamins and minerals,
are a pleasant addition to Spring salads.

The Intruder  -  a neighbourhood cat creeps through our garden.
While dogs sleep cats will play!

A Tree's Life!

The life journey of a tree continues, washed up on an East Lothian beach ....

The abstract patterns and markings interest me from an aesthetic viewpoint.

Grafittied .....

Rotted ........

Sawn .....

Attacked by beetles ......

The trunk measures half a meter in diameter and three meters long ......

Burnt ......

The beetle holes were probably made by spruce beetles.

Did this tree begin life further north in Scandinavia or Russia?
