Morning Walk

One warm morning last week week after leaving Poppy at the veterinary clinic for dental work,I took the
opportunity to explore nearby woods with my other two dogs Maddy and Princess.
Our vet's practice is in the country a few miles outside the city and it's always
relaxing to go for a walk after visits.

Fallen lime and sycamore leaves.

Everything is still very green and trees seem reluctant to change to autumn dress.

We've come to the end of the track. This ford is probably used by forestry vehicles.
Crossings like this on shallow parts of rivers have been used for centuries to move carts and livestock.

We leave calm woods and head for the windy beach.

Waves created by the wind, in shallow pools.

Wind blown Princess.

The out going tide leaves amazingly intricate patterns and shapes in the sand.
I see this one as the plumed serpent Quetzalcoatl,Mayan god of life,

wisdom, the arts, astronomy, the calendar and the winds.

Searching the internet for an image of Quetzalcoatl, I found this mural by the celebrated Mexican artist
Diego Rivera (1886-1957).   Interestingly there's a dog here too!

Another plumed serpent?

Thank you for visiting.

What a refreshing walk --- although, our area does not produce Autumn, I usually travel to view it ... it is my favorite time of year. This year, I need follow Autumn through others eyes. Thank you for sharing!

Divine, just divine. What a wonderful walk I had with these images, especially Diego's mural. That looks like it's on the outside of Casa Azul, his home. Oh geez, I'll have to look that up, I've never seen this image of his. Excellent. Thank you. I think I will go outside now and see what I see in our backyard. teehee.:)

You nature looks simular as ours as the green trees concerns. But I think we both had a terrible weekend now with lots of rain and storms. The Quetzalcoatl looks nice, had never heard of it and you are right the sand looked the same.

I love woods. Your place looks beautiful. So lucky of you to have both beach and woods so close together. I hope Poppy is ok. Topaz had dental work recently. She was really knocked down.

Love the patterns that the water in the sand made. And wow the mosiac of Diego Rivera is excellent and brilliant in color!

What a thick forest with such a lovely brook running through it. The shoreline photos are lovely, too. It is so nice that you have the beach and the woods so close to one another. genie

Hi,Ruby.
Looks you had a refreshing walk. The seventh photo is my favorite.
Looks it is inviting me for a walk on the pathway toward to the shallow river.
Wish I could fly fish there! Little fish can be found in the stream?
Have a good weekend.

So you're a fly fisher Tomoko! There will definitely be trout in the river, maybe also salmon at spawning time. As this is private property you would either have to know the owner or obtain a fishing permit,if indeed permits are available on this land.

The contrast between stillness of the forest and movement of the sea shore is interesting. The pattern associated with plumed serpent Quetzalcoat seems to be giving off a great and mysterious enery by its waving movement. It also looks like a dragon!
