Gorgeous, they are one of my very favourite flowers. I always thought that bees played chess on them.

We lost all of ours, the squirrel dug up the bulbs. This year 2 lone little ones reappeared. Yours are lovely.

Fritillaria is new to me. All the fritillaria nodding in the breeze would be spectacular. I like to have a lampshade like this. Enjoy your May in the balmy breeze, ruby.

Amazing! I've never seen these flowers, either. Would have thought they were fabric flowers, or digitally altered images--but they're even better than that--they're the real deal.

Beautiful flowers! Interesting pattern of the petals. I might've thought you painted the petals^^
Here, yesterday and today was and is like summer. Enjoy your beautiful season, Ruby.

What a nice and pretty chess flower / Fritillaria meleagris. In Germany we call them "Schach- or Schachbrettblume" (chess or chess board flower) as well.

Have a great Pentecost weekend, Uwe.
