Busy Bees

A hive of Small Garden Bumble Bees has established itself in a disused Wren's nesting box under
a honeysuckle bush in our garden. This year the wrens are absent,
in fact I've seen only one all winter.

The bees are very shy and I have to tap the nest to encourage them to appear.
After much buzzing they emerge!

They keep busy all day collecting pollen from a rose bush a few meters from the hive.

This rose is one of my favourites but it blooms for only about two or three weeks a year.
We are however compensated by the gift of beautiful oval pendulous fruits which progress from
luscious green to scarlet throughout the season.

The bees flit so quickly from flower to flower that I find it difficult to follow their movements.

This single petal red rose looks almost like the poppy flower. I love these photos of the bumble bee buzzing around the roses. you have got a lovely garden.

I love this red rose, so lovely!
The picture of bees and roses reminds me of an interesting post about "buzzy polination"
I saw "a super moon", full and the nearest to the earth, the other day here as well. So beautiful like the one in the shot.
Lovely days ahead, Ruby.

I'm on the roof of the house for many years carpenter bees live. They are active in May. And the rest of the year they can not see. It's a pity. I like it when they fly.

I just found your blog tonight. Thank you for showing us some of your paintings. They are wonderful. I enjoyed seeing your garden pics, especially of the bee hive in the wren's house.
