Fantasy Landscapes

This weathered log washed up on an East Lothian beach ignites my imagination.

I see landscapes .....

Rocks  -  Pools  .....

Lakes  -  Sky .....

Patterns connect with the surrounding environment  .....

Constantly changing with the tides  .....

Rock Pools  -  Seaweed  -  Trees  .....

Fields  -  Forests  -  Mountains  .....

It's a windy 14° C (last week)  -  in the distance someone is wind surfing  .....

My dogs enjoy running in the wind !

Thank you for visiting

  4. Your photos and particularly the collages, are lovely, as ever. The patterns on the wood remind me of landscapes you look down on from an aeroplane - as I did recently - the variety of browns of fields, and threads and patterns of blue. As above, so below!

  7. That wood is simply gorgeous! Art, from/by the Sea.

I love such indistinct patterns anywhere. If I gaze at them, I too see all sorts of different forms and random pictures. :-)

Thank you for sharing your ocean side walk!!! I so miss, being able to visit the ocean...

  8. Hello! I think that they have such lovely time at the beach... :) So cute in their cosy play, even despite the wind! And the green hills, fields with forests are so amazing; also, those textures and aspects at the sea. Such wonderful place to have a walk and make lots of pictures in details. Best regards and a very good week!

  10. Oh this is lovely Ruby! There is a whole world in that log bark if we stop to look carefully -- and let ourselves dream. Thank you for doing that and for sharing. I love the pups at play too. (I always pretty much love everything about a beach, especially a quiet one like yours here!)

  20. Beach walks really are the best aren't they, Ruby, we always go down to the beach on Sunday mornings and our German Shepherd, Fleur, just loves to run and meet up with others.
You've certainly discovered some strange and beautiful things to use in your mosaics, thanks for bringing them along to Mosaic Monday this week.

  23. I would have stopped and looked at that wood as well. Beautiful.

Looks like a lovely area to walk and explore. Wind can make it quite cold though. We do get wind here, but not that much during cold seasons. In the winter snow piles up and looks like marshmallows because of lack of wind.

lovely days and nights to you.

  26. Dear Ruby - The patterns on the rotten log look like a microcosm of the earth. On another thought, the weathered log look like chocolate (both brown and white chocolate) marble cake to me. I like the way how you compared the patterns to your surroundings. Nice mosaic of all the beautiful dogs.
