Remarkable images of the patterns on the tree. The graffiti is rather poignant I think as it shows that the tree has been part of the lives of people and it's as if the tree's memory is shown on the outside. And then the collage of trees shows what it might have been - truly the life story of a tree.

I would have done the same with the washed up log by examining it to find more about its journey and life story. Of course I bend over and check out/photograph dead fish etc. that I find too but it's all very interesting if you study these things, isn't it?

I also am intrigued by the textures and things that go on in a trees life. I remember a forest ranger saying that trees are much like humans with their health and diseases. That has stayed with me and i watch and wonder.
