Late Autumn Skies at Twilight

In late afternoon, as we move towards winter, the pale pink and lemon yellow skies of
early autumn have now changed to red and orange.

At this time of day, a stillness descends, which I find very conducive to reading
and reflection  -  when time allows!

Some trees, like this silver birch, still retain their autumn foliage.

Late afternoon  landscape with teasel plants  -   near Galashiels
Photo by my writer friend  Morelle Smith  -  see her blog  Rivertrain   HERE

Morelle's latest book, Tirana Papers - An Albanian Journal, has just been published.
It's a first hand account of living in Albania in the aftermath of oppressive communism
and ensuing chaos.  You can read an excerpt  HERE.

  10. superb skies Ruby. And thank you for including the link to Tirana Papers. It is interesting that particular feeling at a certain time of afternoon. I remember someone else pointing it out to me, and that softness and peacefulness could be felt even walking down a city street. And the colour of the light too, can be extraordinary. Mxx

  13. Hello, Ruby! I like twilight time all the year round, but especially in autumn, I cherish the fleeting purplish world before the darkness falls abruptly. Regarding your photos, the changing colors on the sky and the water birds in the afterglow made me feel sweet and tender. Happy weekend to you, too.

  28. Hi,Ruby
There is so much beauties in your twilight. I love the six photo very much. I enjoy thinking how lovely time you spend by the books and the candle. It is getting cold but it is the best time to hibernate for readings at home. My blog is now quiet as I do not have enough time for posting and many private things.
I hope you are having a good day!
