Snowdrop - Daisies - Swans

Snowdrop and the Seven Dwarfs
A  fairy tale written in 19th century Germany by the Brothers Grimm.

The original heroine Snowdrop later became Snow White in the Disney film
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

I've always imagined these flowers to be daisies and forget-me-nots.
This morning I set out to photograph some daisies to accompany the illustration.




Blue water forget-me-nots on the edge of a pond in a city park.




A pair of resident swans and their five cygnets glide gracefully by.
















Daisies and vetch on the bank.












Wild flower garden in a corner of the park.













Some daisies are just perfect for rolling in!

    We have had parallel days. Love your meadows, ours have yellow vetch but not purple.

    I couldn't agree more, some daisy's are just made to role in.

    What fabulous wild flowers. I always think how wonderful nature is when I see masses of wild flowers. I love the illustration - it makes me think of all kinds of things.

    Wild flowers in your place are very lovely. Many kind of wild flowere are rolling in. Good weather or fertile land for wild flowers,I wonder?

    Those big daisies are gorgeous! Great to see them with some poppies too and the swans and cygnets! Don't think I knew that snow white was originally snowdrop. Isn't this weather amazing!

    How sweet of you, ruby, to make us feel refreshed and to give us a big smile in the end! Personally I prefer the name “Snowdrop” to “Snowwhite” in that story. Blue forget-me-not is my favorite. The flowers in your photos bloom in April and May in my place, from which I suppose your summer is comfortable and refreshing.
    I especially like the lake shots – swans are swimming in the blue sky and green reflection.

    Beautiful dog and nice capture of the swans in the pond!

    Hi! Brothers Grimm is very famous in our country. But I did not know Snowdrop changed to Snow White.
    Your photos are very sensitive and exquisite like paintings in fairly tales.

    Everything in a "natural garden" look pleasant and easy on my eyes. The way swan family are gliding by makes me smile. How wonderful those ducklings turn into graceful white swans like their mom and dad.

    such a pretty flower show.
    love that illustration, dreamy, takes me back in time.... we also have forget me nots, so many varieties, different sizes.

    There are many beautiful pictures on your blog, but I am so attracted to Snowdrop and the Seven Dwarfs. Guess I will always be enchanted by fairy tales. And what a lively, adorable doggie!
