The Alchemist

"The Alchemist"  -   Acrylic on canvas (130m x 100m)

Nuts and seeds

Mother Nature's alchemy.
Found in a pot under a honeysuckle bush.
My interest is in the layering of composition and changing colours as the transformational
process takes place

Louis  (2003 - 2015)

Last month, our friend and sometimes walking companion Louis passed on to the Happy Hunting Ground.
We will miss his good natured company and boundless energy.
Maybe he now chases rabbits in another dimension!

Thank you for visiting

  5. Drawing inspiration from nature is clearly shown here and the results are very beautiful. Love the colours you chose for your achemist painting. I'm also very sorry for your loss. Been through it a few times myself, but they stay in our hearts for ever.:)

  15. Brilliant and beautiful transformations - both in your work and in nature. I have some late honeysuckle flowering right now. And I'm in the garden, otherwise I wouldn't be looking at the computer! About to do some more hard work but right now, enjoying the warm sunshine.
Well, there's been a kind of alchemy within too - a transformation for me, over the past few days, so thank you for the part you have played in this.

  22. Dear Ruby - You’re such a wonderful alchemist who transformed the changing nuts and seeds into that lovely painting of shimmering cream, yellow, orange…colors using your inspiration as a catalyst. Sorry to hear about the passing of Louis, but I believe he’ll be around you in the wind of the field or of the sea whenever you think of him. I remember once calling him “Friend of Wind”.
