Wild strawberries - Rose - Perennial sweet peas ....... yesterday ........ |
On an easel behind me, my unfinished painting is reflected in the background mirror. |

This morning I notice something has been munching the rose petals. My first thought is mice, as they sometimes find their way into the studio ............ but there is no evidence. |
Under a petal I find the culprit ....... a brown beetle. I can't remember it's name but I know it is especially destructive for pot plants. It's now getting on with life outdoors! |
Thank you for visiting

Beautiful photos, Ruby! I love the flowers and the berries. The beetle is pretty too. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteHello, Ruby,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos as always. Each flower is pretty, and the bunch is gorgeous! What a big appetite the beetle has! I hope he is innocent.
Hope you have a good new week.(*^_^*)!
Very pretty and colorful flowers.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful! Wonderful colours, forms and textures, wonderful flowers, but the loveliest of all are the strawberries! :)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful !!! I love strawberries !!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
This is a beautiful combination in the vase Ruby, the little strawberries creating the perfect spiller effect. A nasty looking beetle, you'd think your plants would be safe indoors.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking to Mosaic Monday.
It's the season for small insects moving in or trying to. Your beetle must have had a grand time with the rose petals but at least he/she will have a chance to lead a more sociable life outside....
ReplyDeleteThe strawberries look lovely!

The vase is so creative and the pictures are works of art!
ReplyDeleteBerries and roses make a lovely pairing in your vase. I hope that brown beetle was traveling alone!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are very rich in color and so vivid. The flowers are, too, but your photos give them another oomph.

What delicate plants and such a pretty color...they made me think of raspberries. Happy summer! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour bouquet of flowers is so beautiful, Ruby!!! How wonderful the wild strawberries look to the roses! A very good idea, and by the way you have always something you can nibble :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is surely not easy to be a not very beloved tiny brown beetle...Good that you gave him or her a second chance outside :)
Enjoy wonderful summer days!!!
Katrin :)
Hello, Ruby. The flower and strawberry arrangement in the vase is so artistic and beautiful. Flowers are always generous to the insects, so it should be okay both to the rose and the beetle. I’m curious about your unfinished painting. It looks like spring blooms reflection on the water, but maybe I’m wrong. Sorry to be a late comer as I usually don’t see Dash Board but glad to find this post anyway. Enjoy your July.

Lovely arrangement indeed, and the photos are really nice, showing the insect was an added bonus!
ReplyDeleteHello dear Ruby,
ReplyDeleteThe arrangement is so gorgeous and delicious...like Summer itself!
I hope you are enjoying the warm days...
Please do show us the painting upon completion!
Blessings,
