Nesting Swans

On an island in the pond, well out of harm's way, a swan patiently sits on her nest  (top right).

Her mate swims around guarding their territory......

As she adjusts her position, this Canada Goose is coming too close.......

Wings flapping he quickly sees off the goose and a mallard.

Goosanders

Marsh Marigolds at the water's edge

Starlings

Cherry blossom  -  soon to become nature's confetti.

"Falling Petals"   -   acrylic painting on canvas  (detail).

Thank you for visiting

  5. Super photos Ruby and I loved seeing the swan on her nest and being so protective. What struck me was how large those twigs are which were used to build it. I would have loved to see them being gathered. Gorgeous flowers also and I thank you so much for sharing them with Today's Flowers. Happy Weekend to you :)

  22. I've seen how protective swans can be of their nest and babies, wouldn't want to get too close myself.
As much as I love the marsh marigold that grows in a pot in our pond, isn't it a splendid plant in the wild!
You've created a gorgeous collage of the cherry blossoms which are just as pretty when they're covering the ground. The painting is very nice to depict the various colours of spring petals.
Thank you for linking to Mosaic Monday Ruby.

  34. Excuse me, Ruby, for this very late visit. First of all, I was startled by the sparkling water of the pond and excited what’s going on. The swans, mallards, and the others are so lovely on the blue green water. About two months have passed since the confetti of cherry blossoms. Your painting is a fantasy, I’d like to be drenched in the falling petals. Enjoy your early summer.
