We have recently inherited two dogs,Poppy a whippet cross and Princess a white West Highland terrier. Although our dog Maddy has known them for years and likes the company, she is not at all familiar with the concept of sharing!
The dogs love this park and woodland,it provides space to run and wildlife paths to explore.
Hawthorn
Ferns, nettles, brambles
Pink Campion.
Ash
Path to the horse field.
Dock
Broom and Larch
The horse field gate.
Maddy
The horse field ,but today there are no horses. This is on the outer side of the wall which surrounds Holyrood Park. Crow Hill is in the background.
Here we are only about a mile from Edinburgh city centre.
That is difficult for you Maddy to share the attention suddenly with two others. It is funny to see that some of the names of the plants look rather simular to our language. The Bramble we call Bramen, Buttercups are Boterbloemen,Larks is Larix, Ash is Es, Nettle is Brandnetel and Verns is Varen.
Hello, Ruby! Such a lovely environment both for people and canine friends to explore! Maddy’s dashing toward you is perfectly lovely! I hope Maddy and her new company wouldn’t suffer from nettle stings.
Ha, it's funny that Maddy should be getting comments addressed to her! But the pic of her running is just great. I'm sure she'll get used to her other companions in time. Good to see too, nettles and docken leaves photographed, though I've spent hours today, hoicking up nettles, leaving the dock though because one always gets stung and it's good to have the antidote there. Wishing you all good things Ruby, Morelle xx
Wow, three dogs' mum! I am curious about what it feels like to have more than one dog at a time. Dog watching must be fun. I hope Maddy came to find it fun and interesting to share things with friends. They are so lucky to have such a spacious place to have a field day!

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping things will settle down in a few months.
Hi Tomoko!
ReplyDeleteI love running in the lush green but I'm not sure about the situation with the house guests. Will they ever leave?
Time will tell!
